Ravindra Jadeja creates history as the Longest No. 1 Ranked All – Rounder in Test

Once in every generation comes a player who contributes with bat, ball and in the field with their sheer skill sets and consistent hard work that will ultimately result in crucial wins for the respective team. Such is the Indian Left arm Spinner Ravindra Jadeja who has always been in the picture for his thunderbolt bowling, hard hitting sixes at the crucial moments and hawk like fielding that spots the stumps from the boundary line, yet tips it off. 

रवींद्र जडेजा now holds the record of the Longest player to reign at No. 1 All-Rounder ranking list in Test with 1151 days at the No. 1 spot. Jadeja earned the ranking for the first time in 2021 with the contest closely shared between him and Bangladesh’s Shakib Al Hasan who also topped the list several times. 

Ravindra Jadeja has a natural physicality to trace the ball and accurately if not sharply return it to the stumps, which he has showcased multiple times, taking much needed Run Outs. With the ball, Jadeja has maintained his consistency with the pace to his advantage, zipping the gap between the bat and the stumps while also managing to bowl the outswing and pass the ball to the Wicket Keeper’s gloves, a visual seen majorly with him and MS Dhoni’s planning in both International and Franchise Cricket.
