Licensing processes have been simplified so much that it has become easier to have skilled professionals established as freelancers in the UAE. The government has designed flexible freezone structures, among them is the introduction of innovative one-year and two-year permits, such as Expo City Dubai, in turn, has made the UAE an appealing market to international freelance talent.
These initiatives by the government have led to an enabling environment whereby freelancers are able to flourish and at the same time add to the growth of the UAE. The lean systems eliminate the traditional burdens, and competent professionals concentrate on presenting value to companies and stimulating innovations in industries.

Abu Dhabi has made a major advancement to assist freelancers who are working to boost the UAE economy by launching the Freelancer License to cover 100 various activities. Recently, the Abu Dhabi Business Centre (ADBC) has included 30 new activities, such as those based in cutting-edge areas, such as Artificial Intelligence-based development, 3D imaging production, structured patterns, and oil and gas software structured designs.
ADDED already issued licenses to be a freelancer at the rate of 1,013 in a single year of 2018 alone, which shows the increasing demand of using the services of independent professionals.
