Vijay Deverakonda-starrer spy action drama Kingdom is the next to get a cyber premiere despite its theatrical release, which received both critical acclaim and criticism. Directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, the Telugu-language thriller released on July 31 and earned more than 82 Cr worldwide, albeit against mediocre reviews. Those who did not get time to watch it in cinemas can now enjoy the movie online. The movie will be available on NetFlix on August 27 in various languages as a special occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi. Kingdom Movie OTT Release: Date, Languages, and Announcement
Netflix has officially bagged the streaming rights for Kingdom. The film will release on the platform on August 27, 2025, and will be accessible in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi. Owing to titular issues, the Hindi version will be launched under the title Saamrajya.
The news followed a punchy poster and a gripping quote attached by Netflix India: โThe kingdom of gold, blood and fire has a new king rising out of the ashes.โ The digital release date was also cleverly unveiled on two of the most significant events in Vijay Deverakonda’s career, the 8th anniversary of his cult film release Arjun Reddy, and the 3rd anniversary of the release of Liger, his entry into the Bollywood industry.
The production company responsible for Kingdom Sithara Entertainments announced the update on social media, giving subtle clues about a sequel in development and assuring that the next season will be multilingual. The launch of OTT is in line with the festivities, which will result in the exposure of the film to more people.

A taut spy narrative, Kingdom has Vijay Deverakonda as Suri, a constable-cum-undercover agent, who embarks on a journey to Sri Lanka in pursuit of his missing brother, Siva, whose trails are taken over by Satyadev. Soon, the character is sucked into a war against the murderous scion of a cartel, Murugan (Venkitesh), and his father Odiyappan (Baburaj). Bhagyashri Borse is an actress playing Dr. Madhu, who turns out to be a friend and a love interest of Suri.
The combination of action and the drama of relationships and the underlying drama contributed to the movie appealing to people, but the style of doing it divided opinion. Although many enlightened people appreciated the sort of performance Deverakonda played and the heavy-duty action sequence that the film is shot with, some critics kept pointing out the uneven pace of the movie and the loopholes in the storyline. Nevertheless, Kingdom was able to bring in 82.02 Crore INR at the box office, a reasonable amount, which Jewel has guaranteed a sequel.
Kingdom Movie Controversy
The film courted controversy as the Naam Thamizhar Katchi (NTK) protested against the film on the grounds of its depiction of Sri Lankan Tamils. Protests took place at cinemas in Tiruchy, where people were demanding the prohibition on screenings. In reaction, the Madras High Court intervened, on the basis of police promises to escort cinema halls should there be a need.
Despite these obstacles, Kingdom managed to garner attention, keeping the viewers on the edge of its growing spy universe. The availability of the film on the OTT platform means you can expect it to scale to a higher global viewership in India and beyond.
