दिल्ली की सीएम उम्मीदवार रेखा गुप्ता और कांग्रेस की अलका लांबा: क्या है संबंध?

Today, Rekha Gupta is being sworn in as Delhi’s Chief Minister at Ramlila Ground in a reminder that BJP will return to power in Delhi after a 27 year absence. This also marks Gupta’s rise to the office of the Chief Minister of Delhi’s fourth female CM with the dynamics changing at the political arena in the city.

However, Congress leader Alka Lamba is also trending along with her. The reason? A nostalgic memory back to their student politics days. 

Rekha Gupta & Alka Lamba: From Student Politics to Power

Lamba posted a photo from their oath-taking ceremony in Delhi University Students’ Union (DUSU) in 1995 by which time they were standing together representing opposing student wings while Lamba made his initial show with NSUI and Gupta with ABVP.

In her post, she congratulated Gupta on her achievement saying, “We took oath together back then and today, you take the oath as Delhi’s CM. Wishing you success.”

Gupta and Lamba were comrades in the years that saw their beginnings in student warfare while they stayed connected and grew over the years. Lamba drifted from one party to another throughout the years and stayed with Congress while Gupta remained in the BJP even serving three times as a councillor and a former mayor of SDMC.
