The trailer of ‘Sardaar Ji 3’ was released by the makers on 22 June and a severe online backlash is surrounding the film due to the presence of Pakistani actress Hania Amir in the film. Actor, singer Dilijit Dosanjh is facing hate for having her as the female lead in his upcoming film ‘Sardaar Ji 3’.
Diljith Dosanjh shared the trailer and announced that the movie will be skipping release in India but will be releasing worldwide. Fans and public were quick to call the singer and actor for releasing the movie with actress Hania Amir in it, calling the act ‘shameful’ and ‘insensitive’.
Actress Hania Amir made Anti- India comments during the Pahalgam attack and the following ‘Operation Sindoor’. A planned terrorist attack on Indian civilians killing over 20 tourists in Pahalgam induced India to retaliate with ‘Operation Sindoor’.
While Dilijit Dosanjh has yet to comment on the backlash, producer of the film Gunbir Singh Sidhu told Indian Today that “The film was shot before the conflict with Pakistan. Keeping sentiments on Indian in mind, no India release for the movie”.
The trailer is not available in YouTube India but is posted by Dilijith Dosanjh in his Instagram. The films also has Pakistani actors Nasir Chinyoti, Daniel Khawar, and Saleem Albela aside Hania Amir which is the reason for the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) to urge the Central Board of Film Certification to withhold the certification of ‘Sardaar 3’ in India.
