Hindi actor Ajay Devgn has been quietly following a string of films which are all consciously or coincidentally all sequels. The actor known for his action packed performances has not only now focused on successfully maintaining his streak by starring in sequels, he is also careful about the projects he is associating with.
In the past 2 years, Ajay Devgn was seen in 6 franchise sequels and on the topics of sequels, the actor’s impressive 2024 thriller ‘Shaitaan’ is apparently gearing up for a sequel. Directed by Vikas Bahl, the movie with a eerily thrilling plot starred Ajay Devgn and Jyotika as determined and loving parents who go to the extremes in order to save their daughter and the family from a supernatural evil being, played by R Madhavan.
Now the sequel, ‘Shaitaan 2’ is said to begin production in 2026 as Devgn is now working with Rohit Shetty in the ‘Golmaal’ franchise’s fifth film. With the release of Maa, the makers have apparently drawn a connection and are looking to have ‘Shaitaan 2’ released in 2027.
A Pinkvilla report said that Shaitaan 2 will have the original cast of Ajay Devgn, Jyotika, R Madhavan, Janki Bodiwala and could further have actress Kajol making a guest appearance as ‘Shaitaan’ and ‘Maa’ are made to be crossover in the same cinematic universe.
The sequel is said to be an original supernatural story with the elements retained from the previous project. Writer Aamil Keeyan Khan is working on the story which is yet to be finalised and the sequel is supposedly set in Konkon region, an area in Maharashtra known for its coastal dark and mysterious folktales.
