Vignesh Puthur ruled out of MI – Here’s his Replacement Player for the rest of the IPL

Mumbai Indians’ Young prodigy Vignesh Puthur faced injury complications that led him to drop out of the squad. Raghu Sharma replaces the 24 year old spinner.

Mumbai Indians after pulling through a tough patch in the running आईपीएल season now loses their new found talent Vignesh Puthur due to leg injury. The left arm spinner hailing from Kerala certainly turned heads with his impressive performance for the 5 time champion franchise, now endured bone stress reaction in both shins, ending his time in Mumbai Indians for the rest of the season.

Vignesh Puthur’s place will be filled by Raghu Sharma, a 32 year old cricketer from Punjab who was drafted for support bowler and is now picked based on his strong first class cricket performances. Raghu Sharma has played in 11 first class games, 9 games as a part of Team A and Three T20 games representing Punjab and Pondicherry. While the seasoned player recorded a remarkable play at the 2024 -25 Vijay Hazare tournament where he secured 14 wickets in 8 games, Sharma also has 5 five – wicket hauls and 3 ten – wicket hauls in his first class cricket history. 

Mumbai Indians have drafted Raghu Sharma for his base price of 30 Lakh and he is expected to be a part of the MI squad against Rajasthan Royals on Thursday. The team is focusing on pushing through to get a spot into the playoffs after a bumpy start earlier in the season.

Vignesh Puthur will remain as a part of the Mumbai Indians team for the rest of the season as he will recover from the injury with the strength and conditioning team. Puthur has recorded 6 wickets in 3 games so far in the आईपीएल season, an impressive three wicket haul in his debut game against CSK, putting the word out of his presence.
