Hindi cinema’s finest of actors Aamir Khan is returning in his own film’s spiritual sequel ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’, a film that boasts the resemblance of the 2007 highly celebrated movie ‘Taare Zameen Par’. Produced under Aamir Khan Productions, ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’ has been kept under the wraps with the first look poster of the film released on Monday, 5 May 2025.
‘Sitaare Zameen Par’ is an highly anticipated movie that will have 10 Debut actors playing prominent roles alongside Aamir Khan and Genelia Deshmukh who is the female lead. The movie introduces Aroush Datta, Gopi Krishna Varma, Samvit Desai, Vedant Sharma, Ayush Bhansali, Ashish Pendse, Rishi Shahani, Rishabh Jain, Naman Mishra, and Simran Mangeshkar and revealed the release date as 20 June 2025.
The spiritual sequel is directed by director RS Prasanna who made his debut with the Tamil feature film ‘Kalyana Samayal Saadham’ which was remade in Hindi as the hit ‘Shubh Mangal Saavdan’. The movie is based on the 2018 Spanish film ‘Champions’ that is a real life story adaptation of a Basketball team of Intellectually Disabled people.
Actor Aamir Khan who was the director and producer of the 2007 film ‘Taare Zameen Par’ is returning to the big screen after the controversial 2022 film ‘Laal Singh Chadhha’. ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’ is also bankrolled by Aamir Khan along with Aparna Purohit.
The plot of ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’ is about a Basketball Coach who as a part of his legal issue must serve his community service as a head coach of a team composed of Intellectually Disabled people and their resulting victory. Following the emotions and conscience of ‘Taare Zameen Par’ that followed Ishaan, a boy with Dyslexia and his inspiring journey that stole millions of hearts.
