Press Briefing with Foreign Secretary Vikrant Misri, Colonel Sofiya Qureshi and Wing Commander Vyomika Singh on Friday revealed that Pakistan had launched several Turkish Drones into the Indian Territory with the plan of infiltrating 36 cities. The drones were neutralized by the Indian Army who spotted and destroyed them over the night and the passing hours of 8 – 9 May.

The Pakistan Army has also violated several of India’s territorial laws and provoked the nation to act in retribution. Colonel Sofiya Qureshi during her briefing stated, “”On the night of 8-9 May 2025, the Pakistani Army attempted multiple incursions into Indian airspace, targeting military infrastructure in the western sector.”
It is also revealed by the Colonel that the Pakistan Army has shelled heavy caliber artillery along India’s Line of Control (LoC). The prospect of launching these artillery is to infiltrate 36 locations between LoC and International Borders. This also includes Pakistan launching 300 – 400 Drones that were flown into India and neutralised.
India used both Kinetic and Non- Kinetic means to neutralise these drones that were possibly launched to gather intelligence and to test India’s air defense quality. Colonel Qureshi also reported that, “Forensic analysis of the drone wreckage is underway, and preliminary reports suggest that they are Turkish-made Asis Guard Songar drones”. She also added that a Pakistan UAV also tried to breach the territory and attack the military station in Bathinda that was restricted.
Foreign Secretary Vikrant Misri in his press brief said, “These provocative actions that were taken by Pakistan last night were targeted at Indian cities and civilian infrastructure in addition to some military targets. The Indian Armed Forces responded adequately and responsibly. I want to underline that the official denial of these attacks by the Pakistani State Missionary is an example of their duplicity.”
Another breaking revelation during the brief is that Pakistan is using its civil airlines as their shield that would obviously trigger a swift air defence in response from India, a conscious attempt. Wing Commander Vyomika Singh stated, “Pakistan did not close its civil airspace despite launching a failed unprovoked drone and missile attack on 7 May at 08:30 hours in the evening.” This unsafe attempt could also affect the unsuspecting civilian international flights that are still flying near the border shared by Vyomik Singh.
