T20 Mumbai League Season 3 kicked off vibrantly with the presence of the former Indian skipper Rohit Sharma during the inaugural ceremony. The very first league match of this season took place between ARCS Andheri and SoBo Mumbai Falcons on 4 June 2025. The total team of this season was eight and with the electrifying victory against the Bandra Blasters and Eagle Thane Strikers in the semi finals both SOBO Mumbai Falcons and MSC Maratha Royals entered the finals respectively.
Back to Back Heartbreak to Shreyas Iyer
Skipper Shreyas Iyer is known for his calm composed approach towards the game and the team work shines better only when the leader makes his team comfortable in their zones. After the one hit slip from victory of IPL Finals fans were rooting for Shreyas to win his first ever title in T20 Mumbai League in the season 3. But the much anticipated finals reflected the same night with the same result of the IPL 2025. This is the third loss in the journey of Iyer as the skipper during the finals.
Though it is a heartbreak as a fan of the team SOBO Mumbai Falcons or Shreyas Iyer, hopes and well-wishes are poured over this skipper for his resilience to bounce back and lead his team to the finals. Some experts claim that it happens in every cricketer’s life, there will be days where you need to swallow the tough pills to find a better other side which might give you back to back big wins and lifting trophies by being the skipper.
