‘Chiyaan 64’ with director Prem Kumar announced! Vikram joins ‘96’ director for his next film

Actor Chiyaan Vikram’s next project is now confirmed with director Prem Kumar. The yet to be titled movie is  tentatively called ‘Chiyaan 64’ and it is  produced by Ishiri Ganesh under Vels Films International banner. 

The announcement was dropped by Vels Film International through a post which had the pictures of Vikram, Prem Kumar, Ishiri Ganesh and Kushmitha Ganesh. The post was captioned as, “A collaboration that promises magic on screen ✨We at @VelsFilmIntl are proud to present our next prestigious venture #Chiyaan64, starring the phenomenal @chiyaan🔥 and directed by the visionary #PremKumar ⚡”. 

The details about the plot, genre and other cast are yet to be revealed but director Prem Kumar, who has been known for his feel good and light-hearted movies like ‘96’ and ‘Meiyazhagan’ recently said that he has a violent action film. Fans are hinting that ‘Chiyaan 64’ could be the script. 

Vikram is hot off the release from S U Arun Kumar’s ‘Veera Dheera Sooran 2’ and for his 63rd film he has teamed up with ‘Maveeran’ director Madonne Ashwin who also gave away a great political drama called ‘Mandela’ and ‘Kurangu Bommai’. 

Prem Kumar is fresh off the immaculate ‘Meiyazhagan’ starring Karthi and Arvind Swamy which became a huge sensation. The film first fell flat with the pacing and emotions yet through word of mouth and rave reviews from critics, ‘Meiyazhagan’ soon became a sought after movie in theatres and in OTT. 

Prem is also reportedly working on the sequel of one of his most acclaimed debut films ‘96’ that was released in 2018 starring Vijay Sethupathi and Trisha in the lead roles.
