Advance booking numbers for Coolie, Rajinikanth’s eagerly awaited action thriller, are rewriting the rulebook before the film even hits theatres. The film has already surpassed ₹100 crore in global pre-sales, comprising over ₹46 crore domestically and approximately ₹54 crore from overseas markets.
In India alone, Coolie has amassed more than ₹50 crore in advance ticket sales. Tamil Nadu and Kerala are pacing ahead, with Kerala reportedly accounting for over ₹4 crore through more than 1.6 thousand shows and over 2.45 lakh tickets sold. In Kerala, the film earned ₹1 crore within hours of bookings opening, while international markets , particularly North America , have pulled in around $4–5 million (₹32–42 crore) in pre-sales.
High demand has also driven ticket prices sky-high; Chennai saw first-day show (FDFS) tickets fetching as much as ₹4,500 on the black market. The film’s reach has extended even to Singapore, where companies granted paid leave to employees so they could catch opening-day screenings.
With a grand release on August 14 release across multiple languages, Coolie has already positioned itself for one of the most explosive openings in Indian film history, powered by Rajinikanth’s superstar magnetism and global fan fervor.
