The Gulf nation United Arab Emirates is delicately working towards the direction of bringing global peace and stability to Sudan. Along with Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and the United States, the UAE is actively supporting a peaceful solution to end the ongoing conflict and ensure humanitarian aid reaches the millions affected by the war.
Recently, in a joint statement from these countries called for a three-month humanitarian truce, allowing urgent deliveries of food, safe drinking water, and medical supplies to reach the hardest-hit areas. The plan also envisions a permanent ceasefire and a nine-month roadmap to establish a civilian-led government.
The UAE has provided direct support on the ground to help vulnerable communities in Sudan. The UAE’s involvement is important in coordinating relief efforts and keeping international attention focused on protecting civilians.
In 2024, the UAE delivered a significant portion of its $100 million aid pledge through UN agencies. This support helped deliver essential food, set up field hospitals, supply medical equipment, and build emergency shelters. Women and children, among the most vulnerable, were given priority in these humanitarian efforts.
