Netflix’s ‘Aap Jaisa Koi’ trailer brings the dreamy, classic love story with drama sprinkled and a fabulous pair of R Madhavan and Fatima Sana Shaikh for the first time. A divided and troubling love story or better put wedding story that unites two extreme characters and their families.
Directed by Vivek Soni, ‘Aap Jaisa Koi’ brings all the classical flavour for a Romantic Drama, a shy 42 Year Old divorced Sanskrit teacher looking for a second marriage with a 32 Year Old beautiful and confident French teacher. The trailer picks up with a neutral point of Shrirenu meeting his prospect Madhu Bose who knocks him off his chair quite literally.
Tensions arise when the orthodox and patriarch led family is disoriented by the let loose and progressive nature of the woman’s family, something Madhavan’s character likes at first but grows bitter. The trailer introduces several themes of love, freedom, feminist ideas, challenging the set narratives of a cookie cutter household of India.
The story then unravels to a boiling point for the couple to call off the wedding, both ultimately heartbroken and possibly and hopefully in love with their contrasting yet complementing personality.
‘Aap Jaisa Koi’ directed by Vivek Soni, the director of ‘Meenakshi Sundareshwar’ will be streaming on Netflix on 11 July and has Ayesha Raza, Manish Chaudhari and Namit Das as supporting cast. Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta and Somen Mishra under Dharma Production Banner are producing the film.
