Anil Ambani Raided: Does ED’s Probe 35 Premises, 50 Companies affect his Net Worth in Billions?

Reliance Group Chairman Anil Ambani is being raided today by the Enforcement Directorate in multiple locations in Delhi and Mumbai.

Premises linked to the Reliance Group Chairman Anil Ambani who was involved with the Money Laundering case in Delhi and Mumbai. The Enforcement Directorate probed around 35 locations, 50 companies with ties to the mega conglomerate and even 25 people were investigated. 

The probe was followed by Two FIRs by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), which alleged large-scale financial irregularities. The directorate has investigated the records of 50 companies connected to the cases and 25 individuals who are in relation to the accusation were questioned for hours, according to several sources. 

Between 2017 and 2019, Illegal loan diversion of around ₹3,000 crore from Yes Bank has been alleged. The preliminary investigation by ED has revealed a “well-planned and thought-out scheme to siphon off public money by cheating banks, shareholders, investors and other public institutions.”

Loans were given to RAAGA companies – entities under the Reliance Anil Ambani Groups, an illegal quid pro quo arrangement has been detected by the claims by the ED, which is promoters of Yes Bank received personal payments as a favour for sanctioning loans to the entities. 

With the inputs shared from other regulatory and financial bodies like National Housing Bank (NHB), Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), the National Financial Reporting Authority (NFRA), and Bank of Baroda, ED has also taken into account other accusations on Anil Ambani.
