Rajkumar Rao and Wamiqa Gabbi starrer ‘Bhool Chuk Maaf’, a quirky and fun movie that was anticipated largely by the audience to hit the screens will now skip the theatrical release and will be directly streaming on OTT.
The makers and producers have left an announcement regarding the release citing the current political unrest in India. The makers have decided to forgo the theatrical release due to the tension between India and Pakistan and the resulting mock drills and other security planning in Mumbai and Delhi.
‘Bhool Chuk Maaf’ has now skipped the big release after the deadly Pahalgam attack on 22 April that took the lives of the innocent tourists and civilians by the terrorists. India’s subsequent attack launched ‘Operation Sindoor’ that has since increased security and precaution protocols inside the country.
When and Where to watch ‘Bhool Chuk Maaf’?
The official statement released by Maddock Films read, “In light of recent events and the heightened security drills across the nation, we at Maddock Films and Amazon MGM Studios have decided to bring our family entertainer, Bhool Chuk Maaf, directly to your homes on May 16-only on Prime Video, worldwide.”
The movie directed by Karan Sharma is a unique time loop concept that is set in a wedding at Varanasi where the male lead Ranjan engaged to wed his girlfriend Titli played by Rajkumar Rao finds himself going through the same day of his Haldi ceremony.
‘Bhool Chuk Maaf’ was supposed to hit the big screens on 9 May 2025 as the makers have now pushed the date of release in OTT on Amazon Prime to 16 May for a much wider audience.
