In an impressive display of support for regions affected by floods and landslides, the Central Government has sanctioned INR 1,066.80 crore financial assistance to six Indian states which were severely affected during the 2025 southwest monsoon season. Financial assistance was given as part of the central share of the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF).
Union Home Minister Amit Shah stated that the Modi-led government is steadfastly behind states that have been affected by disasters and has prioritized financial and logistical support via the NDRF, Indian Army and Air Force for rescue and relief operations.
Uttarakhand received the most, with Assam a close second and Kerala and others followed. Here are the specifics:

So far this year, the Centre has released more than INR 6,166 crore from the SDRF to 14 states and INR 1,988.91 crore from NDRF to 12 states. There has also been additional support amounting to INR 726.20 crore and INR 17.55 crore from the state and national disaster mitigation funds respectively.
The Army has also conducted Operation Jal Rahat-2, rescuing nearly 3,820 people in Assam, Manipur and Nagaland. Relief and rescue continues across the Northeast region of India including distribution of food, water and medicines.
