COVID 19 in India – Bigg Boss Fame Shilpa Shirodkar tested Positive

Is there another Pandemic? This is the current tension for the Indian public who are witnessing the COVID -19 outbreak that has reached India too.

COVID -19 cases were recorded across Asia for the past few days have now found their way to India as Bigg Boss fame Shilpa Shirodkar has revealed she has been tested positive. In an instagram post, the actress said, “Hello People! I’ve been tested positive for COVID. Stay Safe and wear your masks!”.

While the Coronavirus outbreak has been recorded in 2025 in Hong Kong, Singapore, China and Thailand, Shirodkar’s post has now confirmed the virus spread to India. Many known cases were announced so far in India with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare states of 93 cases as of 19 May, reports CNBCTV18. Those affected in the rest of Asia have reported of a new variant – Omicron Subvariant as JN.1. No records suggest that the new variant is potent or more severe than the prior ones.

LF.7 and NB.1.8, both descendants of JN.1, are currently the most common variants in the affected areas, accounting for more than two-thirds of cases. The earlier symptoms of the new variant also remain the same with Fever, Cold, Sore Throat, Runny Nose and Shortness of breath.

It is also stated that the recent outbreak is treated similar to a seasonal flu, meaning this is not a big risk factor that people should be worried about. While the initial COVID -19 outbreak was severe, the virus spread itself became endemic like any seasonal flu caused periodical spikes. It is also possible for India to have a Covid -19 spike in 2025 with experts pointing at waning antibiotics or immunities over the time.

Majority of the people are admitted and recovering from mild symptoms while a few have been said to have more severe illness out of the symptoms, typically the elderly who are immunocompromised with additional health compromises such as Cancer, Diabetes and such.
