Does Deepika Padukone’s exit from ‘Spirit’ affect her return for ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ sequel?

Deepika Padukone is facing backlash in her Telugu projects, especially after her clash with Sandeep Vanga Reddy in working on ‘Spirit’.

Actress Deepika Padukone was roped in for a highly expected project with Prabhas, helmed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga for ‘Spirit’. The project however is now in production without Deepika Padukone as the female lead as the actress and the director is said to have disagreed on working hours and remuneration.

After a public outpour from director Reddy Vanga who called out the actress for her ‘PR games’ and bullying and tainting the image of a ‘young actress’, Triptii Dimri who is replacing Deepika in ‘Spirit’. While Deepika Padukone has yet to respond or address the accusations is officially out of the project.

Deepika Padukone has been on a break from acting as she gave birth to her first child, Dua with actor Ranveer Singh. Returning in front of the camera, Deepika is now facing issues with another Telugu film as a Bollywood Instagram page Bollywood Mobi stated that the actress left the project due to ‘friction on sets’.

It is also said that the actress is demanding shorter working hours due to her motherhood which is seemingly a valid condition, also backed by the renowned filmmaker Mani Ratnam who also stands by her demand.

There is no official confirmation from the makers or the actress about her role in the Kalki 2898 AD sequel. Deepika Padukone played the epic role of ‘Sumathi’, the chosen one who is set to save the planet from the dystopian destruction that awaits.
