A Legendary actor and martial arts icon, Jackie Chan, is offered with the prestigious Career Achievement Award in the 78th edition of the Locarno Film Festival, which is going to be celebrated from the 6th to the 16th of August in 2025, Switzerland. This follows tribute to Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan earlier last year and is thus sending up the festival’s tradition of celebrating the finest cinematic global icons.
Running for over fifty years is Chan, who has created a phenomenal career by revolutionizing the action genre with high-octane stunts combined with comedy and heartfelt storytelling. His works have transcended that of Rush Hour, Police Story, and Drunken Master to be some of the most influential among generations toward the making of their films and for audiences worldwide.

Adept at praising Chan on such fronts as his works in the cinema, the festival’s artistic director added that Chan has also really connected the Eastern and the Western film industry, breaking cultural barriers through cinema. His films have made mainstream martial arts and brought genuine action choreography into Hollywood.
In Locarano’s tribute, Chan’s work will be complemented with a special screening, in-person celebration at the famed Piazza Grande, and with fans and filmmakers. Further, this denounces Jackie Chan’s glorification as a world ambassador for cinema and one glorious persona beyond borders.
