There were days when the Indian fans looked upon the all-rounders of other nations for their jaw-dropping skills on the field. But the trend began to change when a player like Ravindra Jadeja who shaped himself as the number one all-rounder in all the three formats of cricket balances that milestone till date. Yet fans are worried to see him undervaluing his skills even after delivering the outstanding performances in a streak.
The controversy sparked when the BCCI’s omission of Jadeja for the leadership based on his unparalleled contributions to the team all these years. And most importantly he is one of the experienced players in the team too but again and again it has been overshadowed by the star batters or frontline pacers. He is the only all-rounder in India to stand in the number one position of ‘Best All Rounder’ on the ICC rankings by crossing 600 international wickets. Sadly, the match winning spells, his lower-order knocks aren’t celebrated like peers with similar records. The true cricket followers would have remembered the days where team India found the replacement of his position, instead of his return during his injury breaks.
