Kerala High School new time extension to commence from 3rd week of June

The revised academic year calendar has been recommended by the The Department of General Education in Kerala. Here’s the new timings for High School students.

The Department of General Education has issued an official circular regarding reorganising the timings of the High School education as the decision of extending the school functioning hours half an hour will be commencing soon.

While the time extent is being prepared for functionality from next week, Minister V Sivankutty stated in a press conference that the academic activities will continue as per the education calendar. The state is also considering approaching the Union minister yet again regarding the withholding of SSF (Samagra Shiksha Fund) due to the non-implementation of the PM SHRI.

An academic plan will be planned and prepared for the 2025 school year along with the suggestions made by the Chief Minister of Kerala. The final draft will be discussed, planned and curated upon a meeting that will be held on 21 June 2025.

Along with new school timings, the government has also announced new curriculum, textbooks and minimum pass mark. This initiative is aimed at improving educational outcomes without penalising students, like the three- week training programme and moral education hours and more.
