Smriti Irani received Rs 1,800 for her first Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi: Here’s how much she is getting for the reboot version

The actress turned politician’s career trajectory just got mapped as the huge difference between her first and recent salary rounds up her popularity.

The audience and fans are eager to witness the Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 3 which will have Smriti Irani relapsing the beloved titular character. The third run of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi will be returning on the TV Screens from 29 July 2025. 

Interestingly, Smriti Irani’s return as Tulsi Virani and fans are now revealed about the actress’ original salary for her pilot season and how much Irani is charging now for the reboot series. The show began in 2000 and Irani was given 1,800 per episode for Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi and according to multiple reports Irani is now paid 18 Lakh per episode for Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 3. 

Starting 29 July 2025 at 10.30 PM, the show will be rebooting for its newer season with Irani foraying into her well known role as Tulsi Virani. The series has an ardent fan base and still has been used and referred to by many. 

From the iconic promo video and the catchy title song of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, the show revoked many nostalgia for the fans and audience when the first look of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 3 was released. 

Backed by Producer Ekta Kapoor, Smriti Irani will be stepping into acting after a steady run as politician. When asked if she was feeling nervous about reprising the role of Tulsi Virani, Irani commented, “I’m a politician. Nothing that you throw at me will make me nervous ever.” 

She also became candid of her balancing such extreme roles and jobs, saying, “Just like many politicians are part-time lawyers, part-time teachers, part-time journalists… I just happen to be a part-time actor. I’ve done it simultaneously, which is what I think is difficult to grasp”. She also added that “The only difference between me and other political workers is they are part-time lawyers and there’s no videographer with them. There’s no makeup person, no scriptwriter… I’m just the one in the spotlight.”
