West Indies ace player Nicholas Pooran has shockingly announced his retirement at the age of 29, at the progress of his career. Here’s his career highlights and estimated net worth.

The retirement season sustains as West Indies star batter Nicholas Pooran has announced his retirement from International Cricket on Tuesday. A shock and a great void for the West Indies team who are eyeing for a comeback, especially in the white ball format. 

Touted as a talented prospect from his early days, Pooran is one of the most remarkable and challenging players in the West Indies. Making his T20 debut in 2016, his first outing wearing the International colours, Pooran was a thorough T20 talent who can churn out sixes when needed and otherwise. 

Getting his call for the World Cup squad in 2019, followed after his ODI debut in 2018, Pooran became an integral part of the lineup. He was named the Vice Captainof the Caribbean side in 2021 for the Men’s T20 World Cup and then for a brief period was leading the white ball formats in 2022. 

Nicholas Pooran is the highest run scorer for the West Indies side in the T20 format and the most capped player in the short format with 106 matches and scoring 2275 runs. The West Indies Cricket Board shared their gratitude for his contribution, “We salute his achievements and thank him for the moments he has given fans across the region and beyond. We wish him all the very best in the next phase of his journey.”

According to several sources the 29 year old Nicholas Pooran is worth $6 Million in net worth from his earnings from representing his country, IPL salary (16 crore) and other franchise earnings. He is married to Katrina Miguel. The couple were in a six year relationship before wedded on 1 June 2021. They have a child, a baby girl named Alyra Pooran in 2023.
