Novak Djokovic encounters an early dismiss in the Madrid Open

This is the third consecutive defeat for Djokovic in this tournament at the early stage

In the 2025 Madrid Open the grand slam master, Novak Djokovic crashed out in the second round to an unseeded Matteo Arnaldi. The 37 year old, Novak Djovokic who is battling a nagging elbow injury and struggling for form, recorded his third straight sets defeat in a row. He has admitted his current games as โ€œNew Realityโ€, where early exits may become more common as he focuses on peaking for Grand slams but the strapped elbow and 32 unforced errors has marred his distinctive performances in the tournament like Madrid Open 2025.

โ€œI was hoping I could play one more match that I played in Monte Carlo. Kind of a new reality for me, I have to say. Trying to win a match or two, not really thinking about getting far in the tournamentโ€ – Novak Djokovic.

Despite all the setbacks, Novak remains a determined legacy of the tennis game. Also, it is expected to be his final appearance in the Madrid Open tournaments.

โ€œI really want to play the best tennis. Iโ€™m not sure if Iโ€™ll be able to do that in Roland Garrosโ€ he added.
