NTA Releases NEET UG 2025 Dress Code and Guidelines – Here’s the Breakdown

One of the most competitive entrance exams in India is the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) for Undergraduates has now revealed the dress code and guidelines.

The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) needs serious and ardent preparations from students passing twelfth standard and wants to pursue Medicine for their Undergraduate degree. NTA (National Testing Agency) has announced the dress code and other guidelines to be followed while attending the exam.

Dress Code for Male Candidates 

  • Long or full-sleeve shirts/ T-shirts are not permitted.
  • Clothing should be simple and devoid of zips, pockets, or large buttons.
  • Simple trousers/pants without pockets are recommended.
  • Avoid layers of clothing or traditional kurta pyjamas.
  • Closed footwear such as shoes or boots are not allowed; candidates should opt for slippers or open-toed sandals.
  • Sikh Candidates are allowed to wear turban.

Dress Code for Female Candidates 

  • Half sleeve T-shirts/shirts/kurtas are recommended.
  • Long sleeves and fancy, sleeved clothing should be avoided.
  • Clothing should be simple without elaborate embroidery, large buttons, or frills.
  • Metallic/non-metallic jewellery is not permitted.
  • Candidates may wear slippers, sandals, or low heels, but closed shoes or boots are prohibited.
  • Leggings and palazzo pants are not allowed in NEET 2025 for female candidates.

Exceptions for Religious Attire

Candidates following certain religious beliefs may opt for an exemption from the regulated dress code. Such candidates must select the ‘Customary Dress’ option while filling the NEET application form and report to the exam center at least an hour early for thorough frisking and security procedures.
