Recently shifted bases from Hindi cinema to the South, filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga now has his next project signed with Prabhas, titled ‘Spirit’. While the ‘Bahubali’ actor is roped in as the male lead, it was said that Deepika Padukone, who is on a hiatus after giving birth to her daughter, was booked as the female lead.
The past few days, many industry trackers have said that the leading actress has walked away from the project due to creative and production differences. In place of her, actress Triptii Dimri was apparently roped in to pair up with Prabhas. While all was assumed to be said and done, there blooms a new controversy.
Sandeep Reddy Vanga took it to his X account with a controversial post. The ‘Animal’ director accused without naming ‘names’, a person who has apparently revealed his script and the narration to a frontline media page that ‘Spirit’ is an ‘A- Rated’ film with an action thriller plot. While there is nothing confirmed yet, this PR statement that was revealed by Deepika Padukone also had statements about Triptii Dimri.
Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga is known to not mince his words or his profile of works so far, which is known in the public forum to be his authentic side. And when he posts something as a response to one of the most anticipating projects in line, it becomes viral.
Now the director has posted, “When I narrate a story to an actor, I place 100% faith. There is an unsaid NDA(Non Disclosure Agreement) between us. But by doing this, You’ve ‘DISCLOSED’ the person that you are” that is apparently about Deepika Padukone.
He also stated in the X post that, “ Putting down a Younger actor and ousting my story? Is this what your feminism stands for ?” as the PR statement from ‘a source’ posted by Pinkvilla informed that “Sandeep Reddy Vanga wanted to cast an actress, who would be comfortable with the sequences written on paper.”
He didn’t hold back from saying that hard work put forth by a filmmaker saying, “As a filmmaker, I put years of hard work behind my craft & for me, filmmaking is everything. You didn’t get it. You won’t get it. You will never get it.”
Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s statement, although doesn’t directly refer to Deepika Padukone, it does point at PR games with a hashtag ‘dirtyPRgames’. He then ended the post by saying he doesn’t care even if the whole story is ousted with a final punching proverb.
