Olympic Bronze Medalist Saina Nehwal and her fellow Badminton player Parupalli Kashyap tied the knot in 2018. The couple has now announced their separation after 7 years of marriage through an Instagram note, a brief emotional announcement posted by Saina caught the eyes of her followers.
The announcement read, “Life takes us in different directions sometimes.
After much thought and consideration, Kashyap Parupalli and I have decided to part ways.
We’re choosing peace, growth, and healing-for ourselves and each other.
I’m grateful for the memories and wish nothing but the best moving forward.
Thank you for understanding and respecting our privacy during this time.”

Fans and followers have been roped in about the couple’s lifestyle and public appearances for years. With no major showoffs or grand gestures, the couple have been candid about their transition from spending time on and off court into marriage life.
The two Badminton superstars first met in Pullela Gopichand academy in Hyderabad and went on to achieve great laurels for India in their professional careers. Saina Nehwal got ranked World No.1 and bagged a Bronze Medal at the 2012 London Olympics while Parupalli Kashyap came into fame after winning the Commonwealth Gold in 2014.
While like many other celebrities, Saina and Kashyap marriage turbulence was also rumoured with no comment from either of the athletes. This Instagram story now confirms the strain in the marriage. Saina, now 35 has also been dealing with health issues recently with her opening up about Arthritis, hinting that she might be heading at an early retirement from Badminton.
