Sunjay Kapur, the Chairman of Sona Comstar and Ex-Husband of actress Karishma Kapoor had tragically died after a fatal polo game. The businessman as per several reports succumbed to death after a heart attack induced by swallowing a bee by accident that ultimately became fatal.
Sunjay Kapur was playing polo in England and supporting his own team Aureus against a team called Sujan run by Jaisen Singh. Aged 53, Kapur was reportedly stung in the throat by a bee that may have induced the heart attack.
Sunjay Kapur was married to actress Karishma Kapoor from 2003 till their divorce in 2016. The couple were separated from 2014 and share two children – Samaira and Kiaan. Kapur in 2017 married model Priya Sachdev with whom he shares a son – Azarius and co-parents Safira Chatwal, a daughter from Priya Sachdev’s former marriage.
While Kapur’s death comes as a shock, one of his recent philosophical posts is now trending. In June 2025, Kapur posted in his X account, “Progress demands bold choices, not perfect conditions. #MondayMotivation”, and a chilling coincidental statement read, “Your time on Earth is limited…”.
The post is now getting attention and the comment section is full of sad emojis and Rest in Peace messages. Kapur passed away only hours after him posting his thoughts and prayers to one of the most tragic aviation accidents in decade, the plane crash in Ahmedabad that took the lives of over 200 onboard and at crash site. “Terrible news of the tragic Air India crash in Ahmedabad. My thoughts and prayers are with all the families affected. May they find strength in this difficult hour”, read Sunjay Kapur’s X post regarding the crash.
