Suriya 46 Update: Mamitha Baiju aboard as Female Lead with an Exciting Crew

Fans are over the moon for the Suriya 46 announcement that has been in the surface as a rumour for a while. Directed by Venky Atluri, ‘Suriya 46’ will be made in both Telugu and Tamil, marking this project as Suriya’s first original Telugu movie although he is a popular figure across the nation. 

Suriya 46 was discussed and hinted by Atluri in the 2024 Director’s Round Table for The Hollywood Reporter where he revealed he has two stories in mind with several industry rumours swirling of Suriya leading on screen for one. Now it has taken shape with Sithara Entertainments bankrolling the project and the movie is on the floors for filming from the last weeks of May. 

Suriya 46 will have actress Mamitha Baiju who is also making her debut in Telugu apart from being famous for her role in ‘Premalu’. Venky Atluri has also proven to be a reliable and successful director with ‘Vaathi’ and ‘Lucky Bhaskar’ under his belt, impressing the masses. Music will be composed by GV Prakash who previously worked with Suriya’s critically acclaimed ‘Soorarai Potru’, winning the National Award and with Atluri in ‘Vaathi’ and ‘Lucky Bhaskar’. 

Rumours are Raveena Tandon is also joining the cast of the ‘Suriya 46’ which is yet to be confirmed by the makers. Nimish Ravi will be behind the camera while Navin Nooli will be editing the Family Drama.

Suriya is also working with RJ Balaji for his 45th project that is yet to be titled while also enjoying the success of Karthik Subbaraj’s ‘Retro’. Actress Mamitha Baiju has a bunch of projects in Tamil and Malayalam including ‘Jana Nayagan’. ‘Suriya 46’ is all set to be released for the summer of 2026.
