Elon Musk‘s companies have introduced the X Subscription, combining X Premium benefits, the Grok chatbot, and Cursor’s AI coding tools. Paid plans start at $8 monthly.
Announced by SpaceX Super Intelligence (SpaceXSI) on October 12, 2026, the bundle is open to new subscribers, with account migration being introduced gradually for existing customers. The official launch announcement lists five tiers.
Key Highlights
- Five tiers run from Free to Ultra at $200 monthly.
- The $30 Premium tier includes Grok Bot and X Premium+ benefits.
- Grok and Cursor share a weekly AI usage allowance.
- Third-party AI models in Cursor cost extra.
- Existing paid subscriptions do not automatically change.
What Does The New X Subscription Include?
The arrangement follows SpaceX’s acquisition of Cursor developer Anysphere, completed in August 2026. Previously separate subscriptions now share billing.
The tools include:
- Grok: AI conversations, voice interactions, image generation, and video creation.
- Cursor: Coding assistance through local and cloud-based agents, using eligible Grok models from the shared allowance.
- Grok Bot: AI agents for delegated tasks, included from the $30 Premium tier.
- X Premium: A blue checkmark, creator features, and reduced advertising; higher paid tiers include Premium+ benefits.
A developer could code in Cursor and promote the finished project on X. They remain separate apps. X subscription benefits require linking an eligible personal X account.
In its official X post on October 12, SpaceX SI confirmed that the three services had been brought together.
X Subscription Price: How Much Do Plus, Premium, Super And Ultra Cost?
The official pricing documentation lists monthly and annual rates in US dollars.
| Plan | Monthly Price | Annual Price | Included AI Usage |
| Free | $0 | $0 | Limited |
| Plus | $8 | $80 | Base |
| Premium | $30 | $300 | 4× Plus |
| Super | $100 | $1,000 | 15× Plus |
| Ultra | $200 | $2,000 | 50× Plus |
Annual Premium billing works out to $25 monthly.
SpaceXSI says the $30 tier combines benefits previously sold through SuperGrok, Cursor Pro and X Premium+, which together cost about $90 per month. That $60 difference is not a like-for-like saving because usage rules differ.
Indian checkout totals can differ because of currency conversion and taxes, which published prices exclude. Cursor separately launched an India-only Start plan at ₹649 monthly, including tax and UPI payments, in July. Its launch announcement said India had over three million Cursor developers.
Are Grok And Cursor Usage Limits Really Shared?
The usage policy gives each paid subscriber a weekly pool for eligible first-party activity across Grok, Grok Bot and Cursor.
Three conditions change how much a subscription actually buys:
- One allowance: Heavy Cursor coding may leave less included usage for Grok conversations until the next weekly reset.
- Different consumption rates: Tasks do not necessarily draw the same amount from the pool.
- Extra charges: Models from outside SpaceXSI, including supported Claude or GPT models in Cursor, use paid top-up credits rather than the included allowance.
Its claimed doubling of coding usage does not apply across every feature. Subscribers can view consumption, reset dates and spending limits in their dashboard.
Can Existing Users Switch, And What Changes For India?
Existing SuperGrok, Cursor and X Premium subscribers can keep their current subscriptions. Moving to the unified plan is optional, and the switch cannot be reversed. Eligible unused subscription time receives a prorated refund, although Apple App Store purchases have separate cancellation rules.
New users can subscribe through X Subscription pricing. Existing users can look for the migration option in their billing settings. Indian Cursor Start subscribers should compare their ₹649 plan’s included models and usage with the dollar-priced bundle; older local plans are not necessarily the same product.
There is another looming change: Open AI announced on August 28 that it intended to end its model-supply agreement with Cursor, proposing November 12, 2026, as the shutoff date. That makes future third-party model availability especially relevant for teams relying on GPT.
For current prices, rollout availability and billing conditions, follow SpaceXSI’s official subscription information rather than unofficial rupee conversions.
What Is The Cheapest Paid X Subscription Plan?
Plus costs $8 monthly or $80 annually at listed rates. It includes increased Grok and Cursor access, along with paid X benefits, but excludes Grok Bot.
Can Indian Users Buy The New X Subscription?
The company announced a global rollout. Indian users can review eligibility and their actual payable amount at checkout, where taxes and currency conversion may affect pricing.
Will My Existing Cursor Subscription Be Cancelled Automatically?
No. Existing subscribers can keep their old plans. Choosing to migrate cancels eligible selected subscriptions, with prorated refunds subject to the applicable billing and app-store rules.
Are Claude And GPT Models Free Inside Cursor?
No. Supported third-party models are charged separately at applicable API rates through prepaid usage credits. The subscription’s weekly allowance covers eligible first-party model usage only.
