Samsung One UI 8.5 Stable Rollout: Is Your Galaxy Phone On The India Update List?

Samsung Galaxy users in India are checking Software Update today. Samsung has listed One UI 8.5 on its India site and says the update will expand beyond the Galaxy S26 series. However, Samsung’s India support schedule still shows the earlier One UI 8 Android 16 plan, not a final One UI 8.5 stable calendar. So, today looks like a developing rollout window.

What Has Actually Started Today?

Fresh tracker reports suggest Samsung may begin the stable One UI 8.5 rollout for the Galaxy S25 series around April 30 or May 1, first in South Korea, followed by availability from May 4. That means Indian Galaxy S25, S25 Plus and S25 Ultra users should start checking soon, but the OTA may arrive in batches by region, carrier and model.

Samsung updates rarely land on every phone together. Some users see the download instantly, while others wait days.

Galaxy Phones Expected To Get One UI 8.5

The safest names are the Galaxy S26 series, which ships with One UI 8.5, and the Galaxy S25 series, which has been in beta testing for months. Samsung has also expanded One UI 8.5 beta access to the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Fold6, Galaxy Z Flip6, Galaxy S25 FE, Galaxy S24 FE and Galaxy Tab S11 series.

A second beta wave included the Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy Z Fold5, Galaxy Z Flip5, Galaxy S23 FE and, for India, Galaxy A36 5G. That hints these devices are in Samsung’s active testing lane, although final India stable timing can still change.

Quick India Checklist Before Updating

Open Settings, tap Software Update, then Download And Install. Keep 50 percent battery, use Wi-Fi, back up WhatsApp and Gallery files, and keep free storage. Beta users should check Samsung Members.

What New Features Should Users Expect?

Samsung says One UI 8.5 brings upgraded AI features, refreshed design changes and stronger privacy tools. The headline additions include smarter Photo Assist, Now Nudge, deeper Galaxy AI actions, Quick Panel customisation, and improved Home and Lock Screen personalisation.

The beta expansion also brought Quick Share support for AirDrop-style cross-platform sharing on select devices. Some AI features may depend on model, region and language, so older A, M or F series may not get every flagship tool.

Should Indian Users Install It Immediately?

Power users may install once the stable OTA appears, but regular users should wait 24 to 48 hours and watch early feedback. Samsung notes that schedules can change, updates can pause, and availability depends on country or network operator.
