Who eats the most meat? List of Top 10 nations ranked and Where does India stand?

Lithuania ranks first with 96% of its population consuming meat followed closely by Japan (95%) and Argentina (94%).

Even with most vegetarians, India eats almost 4.9 kg of meat per person and per annum. With such a major population of vegetarians in India, around 80% of people eat meat especially chicken, mutton and beef. Rising urbanization, incomes and demand for processed meat products are causing an expansion in the meat market in India. 

Still India stands far behind the top nations in meat consumption which the all top nations secures above 93 percent.
