Railway ALP Application Window Closing Soon is now the main alert for candidates waiting to apply for Assistant Loco Pilot posts in Indian Railways. The Railway Recruitment Boards opened online applications for CEN 01/2026 on 15 May 2026, and the last date to submit the form is 14 June 2026 by 11:59 p.m.
This recruitment is for 11,127 Assistant Loco Pilot vacancies across RRBs. The post carries Level 2 pay with initial pay of ₹19,900 and A-1 medical standard. Candidates should apply only through the official RRB websites or the central application portal at rrbapply.gov.in. The detailed CEN 01/2026 notice is available on official RRB websites, including RRB Bhopal.
Railway ALP 2026 Last Date And Key Dates
The application deadline is the biggest point candidates must not miss. RRB has clearly mentioned that online applications must be submitted by 14 June 2026, 23:59 hours. The fee payment deadline for already submitted applications is 16 June 2026, 23:59 hours. Railway ALP Eligibility, Education And Age Limit
The Railway ALP Application Window Closing Soon alert is mainly for candidates who already meet the education rules. RRB has said candidates waiting for final results of required educational or technical qualifications are not eligible. The qualification must be complete on or before the closing date of application.
For Assistant Loco Pilot, candidates need Matriculation or SSLC plus ITI from recognised NCVT or SCVT institutions in approved trades such as Fitter, Electrician, Instrument Mechanic, Mechanic Motor Vehicle, Wireman, Turner, Machinist, Mechanic Diesel, Electronics Mechanic, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic, and other listed trades. Course Completed Act Apprenticeship in these trades is also accepted.
Candidates with Matriculation or SSLC plus a 3-year diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics or Automobile Engineering can also apply. RRB has also said an engineering degree in these disciplines will be acceptable in place of diploma.
The age limit is 18 to 30 years as on 1 July 2026. For the general category, the date of birth should not be earlier than 2 July 1996 and not later than 1 July 2008. Relaxation applies for eligible OBC, SC, ST, Ex-Servicemen and other listed categories as per the official notice.
How To Apply For Railway ALP 2026 Online?
Candidates should first visit the official RRB application portal or the official website of their selected RRB. RRB has warned candidates to use official RRB websites only and stay away from fake websites, job rackets and social media rumours.
The application process starts with account creation. Candidates who created an account for earlier CENs in 2024 or 2025 can use the same login. New candidates must create an account using an active mobile number and personal email ID. OTPs will be sent during this stage, so do not use someone else’s number.
After login, select CEN 01/2026 Assistant Loco Pilot, choose only one RRB, fill personal details, upload the required live photo and signature, enter education details, choose preferences under the selected RRB, pay the fee and submit the form. RRB allows only one application per candidate. Multiple applications can lead to rejection and debarment from future RRB and RRC exams.

Selection Process, Exam Rules And Final Advice
The ALP selection process includes CBT 1, CBT 2, Computer Based Aptitude Test, document verification and medical examination. RRB will shortlist candidates for CBT 2 at around 15 times the vacancies notified for that RRB. Marks will be normalised where exams are held in multiple shifts. There will be 1/3 negative marking for wrong answers in CBT 1 and CBT 2. There is no negative marking in CBAT.
Candidates should also note the exam-day restrictions early. RRB has banned mobile phones, watches, Bluetooth devices, calculators, books, paper, pen, pencil, bags, belts, food items and other listed items inside the test centre. Only the e-call letter will be allowed, and pen will be given at the centre. Candidates should also avoid applying henna on hands or feet because it can disturb biometric capture.
The final advice is simple. Do not wait for the last evening. Railway servers often face heavy traffic near the deadline because thousands of candidates try to submit forms together. Finish the form, pay the fee, download the confirmation page and save the application number. Railway ALP Application Window Closing Soon is not just a headline now. For many candidates, it is the last chance to enter one of the biggest railway technical recruitments of 2026.
