Several premium trains leaving New Delhi will take altered routes. Train 20840 New Delhi-Ranchi Rajdhani, 12424 New Delhi-Dibrugarh Rajdhani, 12314 New Delhi-Sealdah Rajdhani, 12306 New Delhi-Howrah Rajdhani and 22812 New Delhi-Bhubaneswar Rajdhani are diverted through New Delhi, Delhi Junction and Sahibabad. The biggest pressure points are around New Delhi, Delhi Junction, Sahibabad, Delhi Shahdara, Ghaziabad, Tilak Bridge, Hazrat Nizamuddin and Palwal. Passengers on eastern and southern routes may notice longer running times because trains are being rerouted or regulated through these sections.

New Delhi-Aligarh services can originate from Ghaziabad, Tilak Bridge-Bulandshahr MEMU can start from Delhi Shahdara, and some Delhi Junction services are shifted to Sahibabad or Delhi Shahdara. This is especially important for travellers using New Delhi, Old Delhi, Ghaziabad, Sahibabad and nearby NCR stations because a train may run but start from a different terminal.
Travellers should also allow extra time for road movement near central Delhi during the BRICS Summit period. The rail notice itself uses “operational reasons” for the changes, so passengers should rely on live railway information rather than assume every train follows the same diversion pattern.
September 12 carries the widest mix of changes, with 13 local cancellations listed alongside 13 diversions and several regulated or rescheduled long-distance trains. The following day shifts attention to Palwal, Ghaziabad, Delhi Junction and Sahibabad services, with further cancellations and short terminations.
