Samsung One UI 8.5 Global Rollout Begins: India Users To Get Major Galaxy AI Update Soon

Samsung One UI 8.5 Global Rollout has officially started, and Galaxy users in India are now waiting for the major Galaxy AI update to arrive on eligible phones and tablets. Samsung confirmed that One UI 8.5 started rolling out in Korea on May 6, 2026, with more regions to follow.

The update brings new Galaxy AI tools, smoother sharing, improved creativity features, and better device security across supported Galaxy devices.

Samsung One UI 8.5 Rollout Starts With Galaxy Flagships

Samsung has listed several premium devices in the first rollout wave. The eligible list includes the Galaxy S25 series, Galaxy S25 FE, Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy S24 FE, Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy Z Flip7, Galaxy Z Fold6, Galaxy Z Flip6, Galaxy Tab S11 series, and Galaxy Tab S10 series.

For India, SamMobile reports that the wider rollout starts from May 11, covering India, Europe, North America, Latin America, Southeast Asia, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. Galaxy S25 models are expected to be first in line, followed by other flagship and tablet models. Samsung’s official X post shared the One UI 8.5 rollout announcement.

What Galaxy AI Features Are Coming With One UI 8.5?

One UI 8.5 focuses strongly on Galaxy AI. Samsung says the update improves communication and creative experiences across Galaxy phones and tablets. The beta details also showed upgrades for Photo Assist, allowing users to keep editing AI-generated images without saving every version separately.

Quick Share is also getting smarter. Samsung says it can recognize people in photos and suggest sharing those images directly with the right contacts. This should help users who often send event photos, travel pictures, office images, or family albums from Galaxy phones.

One UI 8.5 Also Adds Better Galaxy Ecosystem Features

Samsung has added Audio Broadcast, which uses Auracast support for easier nearby audio sharing. Storage Share is another useful addition, letting users view files from other Galaxy devices directly inside the My Files app. It can also allow phone files to be accessed from supported Samsung devices, including tablets, PCs, and TVs.

India Users Should Check These Galaxy Models First

India users with Galaxy S25, Galaxy S24, Galaxy Z Fold6, Galaxy Z Flip6, Galaxy Z Fold7, Galaxy Z Flip7, Galaxy Tab S11, and Galaxy Tab S10 models should keep checking the Software Update section. SamMobile says older flagships and selected mid-range models such as Galaxy A56, Galaxy A55, and Galaxy A36 may follow later.

To check manually, users can open Settings, tap Software Update, and select Download and Install. Beta users may receive a smaller final package, while users moving from One UI 8 may see a larger file size.

Why One UI 8.5 Is A Big Update For Samsung Users

One UI 8.5 is not just a cosmetic update. Samsung is adding stronger security tools, including Theft Protection, Failed Authentication Lock, and wider Identity Check coverage for important settings. These changes can help protect Galaxy phones if they are lost or stolen.

The update also arrives at a time when AI phones are becoming a key trend in India. Galaxy AI tools, smarter sharing, better cross-device access, and stronger privacy features could make One UI 8.5 one of Samsung’s biggest software upgrades before One UI 9.
