CBSE Re-Evaluation 2026 Application Begins: How To Apply For Marks Verification

CBSE Re-Evaluation 2026 has become one of the biggest education updates for Class 12 students after the board opened the post-result application process for verification of issues observed in scanned answer books and re-evaluation of answers. CBSE listed the June 2, 2026 press release and portal-start notice under its latest official updates, along with the application link for post-result services.

The process is especially important this year because CBSE introduced On-Screen Marking for Class 12 answer books in the 2026 main examinations. The board said this step was linked with standardisation, accuracy, confidentiality, and faster evaluation work. Students who feel their marks do not match their performance should not depend on social media rumours. They should check the official CBSE portal, read the notice carefully, and apply before the deadline.

CBSE Re-Evaluation 2026 Dates And Fees

CBSE’s post-result notice gave a clear fee cut for students. The scanned copy fee was reduced from ₹700 to ₹100. Verification of issues observed was reduced from ₹500 to ₹100. Re-evaluation was reduced from ₹100 per question to ₹25 per question. CBSE also said the fee will be refunded if marks increase after re-evaluation.

As per the notice, scanned copies of evaluated answer books were scheduled from May 19 to May 22, 2026, up to 11:59:59 p.m. Verification of issues observed and re-evaluation were scheduled from May 26 to May 29, 2026, up to 11:59:59 p.m. Later, CBSE’s latest page showed fresh June 2 updates for “Verification of Issues Observed” and “Re-evaluation of questions,” so students should rely on the active CBSE portal before paying any fee.

How To Apply For CBSE Marks Verification 2026

Students should first visit the official CBSE website and open the post-result services or verification and re-evaluation section. CBSE’s official latest update page carries a “Click here to apply” link for post-result services.

After opening the portal, enter the required login details such as roll number, school number, admit card ID, or other information requested on the screen. Select the subject, choose the available service, review the fee, and complete online payment. Students should save the acknowledgement page, payment receipt, and application number.

The key point is that students cannot treat re-evaluation like a casual second checking request. CBSE’s older portal note says candidates who applied and obtained photocopies of answer books will only be eligible to apply for verification or re-evaluation in the applied subject. This means students must follow the board’s step-by-step order and avoid skipping stages.

What Students Should Check Before Applying

  • Compare the scanned answer book with the official marking scheme carefully.
  • Check question-wise marks to see whether every answer has been evaluated.
  • Verify the total marks and confirm that all marks have been correctly added.
  • Look for answers that may have been left unchecked by mistake.
  • Apply only for genuine issues such as wrong totalling or marks not carried forward.
  • Request re-evaluation only for answers where you strongly feel marks were wrongly awarded.
  • Do not rush after seeing viral screenshots or social media claims.
  • CBSE clarified that the actual evaluation portal was not hacked.
  • The viral claims were linked to a testing website with sample data, not the real On-Screen Marking portal.

Why CBSE Re-Evaluation Portal News Went Viral

The CBSE re-evaluation portal became a trending topic after reports said the portal faced heavy traffic and cyberattack attempts when thousands of students started applying. Times of India reported that the portal received around 1.5 million hits within two minutes and more than one lakh unauthorised access attempts were detected.

This is why students should avoid third-party links, Telegram forwards, unofficial YouTube descriptions, and random “direct apply” links. The safest route is CBSE’s official website, the official post-result portal, or a school-shared official notice. Parents should also avoid paying anyone who claims they can “increase marks” through private contacts.

Final Word For Students

CBSE Re-Evaluation 2026 is useful only when students apply with proper proof and within the official window. Keep the scanned answer book, marking scheme, admit card details, payment receipt, and acknowledgement number safely. If marks change, CBSE will update the result as per rules.

Students should keep checking CBSE’s official website because the board has been posting fresh post-result notices, portal updates, and application links there.
