Jammu and Kashmir is preparing to host the International Film Festival of Jammu & Kashmir 2026 from September 7 to 10, featuring 135 films from 41 countries. With an international jury, ₹96 lakh in prizes and planned screenings including a floating cinema on Dal Lake, the festival aims to promote Kashmir as a destination for filmmaking, film tourism and global cultural exchange.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi marked seven years since the Article 370 abrogation, highlighting development, security, rights and infrastructure as political parties continue to demand the restoration of Jammu and Kashmir’s statehood.
